Kate Lindburg - Membership Committee Chair
Animal Crackers Pet Supply
ktlindburg@aol.com

After earning my Master’s in Microbiology and then working in the Biochemistry Department at OSU, I left science and entered the business world in 1992. By 1994 I wanted to start my own venture and, being a life-long pet owner, I looked to the pet industry. My market research confirmed that Corvallis could support a specialty pet supply store so I took a few SBA classes, wrote a business plan, scraped together every dollar my husband and I had and opened Animal Crackers in December of that year. The store has grown steadily over the past 11 years despite the opening of the PetCo. The success of Animal Crackers Pet Supply is proof of the importance of small businesses to the quality of life in Corvallis.
