£ Does your business have a SPECIAL EVENT (Grand Opening, Open House, Anniversary, etc.) scheduled for 2009? CIBA would like to add member events to a calendar on our website. £ SUSTAINABILITY TIP O’ THE MONTH. The Downtown Parking Committee wants you to know about the City’s support for adequate bicycle parking. The City teams with businesses where a need can be demonstrated to install hoop-style racks within the public right-of-way. Staff can also work with businesses to cost share installation of racks where the right-of-way installation is not possible, but the business requesting racks is willing to provide pad space to serve as an anchor for the racks. As parking demand grows, the installation of racks can encourage patrons to arrive at your place of business by bike. And as the public’s sustainability awareness also grows, your customers will appreciate not having to drag their vehicle with them to your business. To investigate the possibility of bike rack installation, call 766-6916.

£ The HOUR EXCHANGE ANNUAL HOLIDAY MARKET & WINTER CELEBRATION will be Sunday, December 14, from 11-4, at Old World Deli. There will be music and entertainment, locally produced goods and crafts, a silent auction, and activities for kids. It’s free! For more info: 753-0595; www.hourexchange.org.
