£ It’s time for the SEPTEMBER MEMBERSHIP MEETING! Be sure to join us on Wednesday, September 30, at 5:30 p.m. at the First Alternative South Store Community Meeting Room (on SE Chapman). We’ll kick off (as usual) with some networking time. Benton County Health Department has asked for 15 minutes on our agenda to present information about dealing with the upcoming flu season – bring your questions. Then, it’s time to share with a membership roundtable discussion and idea exchange! The topic will be customer service. Bring your best ideas and challenges. Special added feature: Bring a potential business member to the meeting and receive a gift from CIBA!

£ The Fall Linn Benton MicroBusiness Workshop is about to start; if you know someone who could benefit from this program please pass this information along to them. The program is for low to moderate income people interested in starting or expanding a small business and is offered by Willamette Neighborhood Housing Services and Linn Benton Community College’s Small Business Development Center. Qualified participants are eligible to receive a variety of services including business training, counseling and technical assistance, and access to capital and other resources. The business training consists of a 36-hour workshop, in which people learn how to test the feasibility of their business ideas, analyze opportunities, organize and manage business, develop a strategic marketing plan, create financial statements, etc. By the end of the 12 weeks participants have a written business plan. There is a materials fee of $75 for this workshop.
The last Orientation Session for the program will be September 10, 6:30-8:30 p.m. at LBCC-Lebanon. Call 541-752-7220 for more information.

£ CONGRATULATIONS to Country Vitamins! They will be celebrating their 27th anniversary with an Owner Appreciation Day on October 3.

£ Don’t forget: November 18 is the CIBA HOLIDAY SOCIAL, 5:30 pm, place TBA. Raffle, food, and fun!
