CIBA Newsletter - August 2008

August 15, 2008

£ Be on the lookout for a CIBA SURVEY coming your way in the next week or two. CIBA wants to know your thoughts about the proposed BUSINESS LICENSE FEE. When the Survey Monkey link arrives via email to your inbox, please take a couple of minutes to answer a few questions for us. As currently being discussed, the proposed Business License Fee would provide funding for the Prosperity That Fits plan. The proposed fees are $50 for businesses with 1 to 9 employees; $175 for those with 10-19 employees; $275 for businesses with 20-49 employees; and $1000 for businesses with 50 or more employees. While CIBA supports the goals of Prosperity That Fits, the Board remains concerned about the potential impact the BLF may have on Corvallis independent businesses. Let us hear from you!

£ The CIBA Office has new STAFF HOURS! Colleen’s hours will now be Tuesdays and Thursdays, from 8:00 a.m. to noon. We hope this schedule will allow her to provide quicker responses to your questions and give her flexibility to assist us with meetings and other obligations. You can contact Colleen at 752-0047 or info@corvallisiba.org.

£ The CIBA SEPTEMBER MEMBERSHIP MEETING will be Wednesday, September 24, from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. Stay tuned for the location. Be sure to put this meeting on your calendar. Our focus will be on LOCAL ISSUES, including the Business License Fee, the proposed railroad crossing closure at 7th & Western and its impact on Denson Feed & Seed, and an update on Urban Renewal. Enjoy the remaining days of summer and join us at the end of September for a lively and informative meeting!
