£ Save the date for ANNUAL ELECTIONS: At the May 28th MEMBERSHIP MEETING we will elect new members to our board of directors. If you wish to vote in advance, please review the ballot. This month the talk is “Mapping Your Financial Future” with Kay Dee Cole, learn to handle financial road-blocks, and ease into succession planning. Edward Jones will sponsor the evening at Kay Dee Cole’s office located at 2085 NW Grant Ave. Light refreshments will be provided. Please help strengthen your independent business alliance and consider bringing a business friend to visit! We look forward to seeing you all for a fun, informative evening and excellent networking opportunity.
£ The first BUY LOCAL BREAKFAST took place on May 3rd and was a smashing success! If you missed out, not to worry; there will be two more on JUNE 7th and JULY 5th. The June 7th breakfast will take place from 7:30am to 9:30am at the Odd Fellows Hall (223 2nd St, Corvallis). These wonderful events are a great showcase for our local independent businesses and run entirely on volunteer efforts. If you are willing to lend a hand you can choose either an early or a late shift to be a greeter, cook, server, or dishwasher. If you are interested in joining in please contact Barbara Ross.

£ Thank you for those of you who voiced opinions and questions about the BUSINESS LICENSE FEE at our last membership meeting. CIBA has taken all of the membership input into consideration and drafted a letter that has been mailed to each City Councilor, the Mayor, and the Corvallis Chamber. You can use this link to a Corvallis ward map so you can identify your individual Councilor. We encourage you to make your feelings on the issue known to your Councilor.
