The Corvallis Independent Business Alliance and the First Alternative Food Coop are teaming up on a "Buy Local" Campaign in May, June and July.
The centerpiece of the campaign will be three, “Buy Local First Breakfasts” at the Oddfellows Hall, 223 SW 2nd Street.
They will be held the first Saturday of each month, from 7:30 to 9:30am.
There will be food, fun and music and information about local businesses and organizations.
The menu will be tofu scramble, fruit, yogurt, coffee cake, cereal, coffee and tea.
The cost will be $5 for adults and $3 for children 12 and under.
$2 off coupons will be available at participating businesses.
The purpose is to help Corvallis folks think more about the advantages of buying from local businesses and making more conscious choices about their purchases. You can help in several ways.
1. Volunteer to help cook, serve and greet guests.
2. Display a Poster in your window and distribute coupons.
3. Sign up for a space to display information about your businesses and your products.
4. Attend the breakfasts yourself and encourage your employees to participate by making sure that each of them gets a coupon.
For more information call Barbara Ross at 752-3605 or Becky Picton at 760-1059.
